Teresa Fream, violin
The Music Conservatory Faculty

TERESA FREAM, violin, has established an international career as chamber musician and orchestral musician. Ms. Fream is currently a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra. In addition, she is a member of Music of the Baroque and Fulcrum Point New Music Project, and performs regularly with the Grant Park Symphony, Rembrandt Chamber Players, and Contemporary Chamber Players. She has been a member of the Peninsula Music Festival orchestra since 1993 and is very active in the Chicago recording industry.

A graduate of Indiana University and student of Franco Gulli, she continued study with Vartan Manoogian, Walter Verdehr, and Zvi Zeitlin. As a member of the Thouvenel String Quartet she performed regularly throughout the United States and Europe, and championed the string quartets of Ernst Krenek. In April of 1978 they performed the complete quartets of Krenek at New York’s Carnegie Recital Hall, for which they were named Musical America’s Musicians of the Month.

From 1982 until 1991 Ms. Fream was a member of the Nashville Symphony, and served as Principal Second Violin of that orchestra from 1988 through 1991. She has served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music and the University of the South.
