Joseph Golan, violin
The Music Conservatory Faculty

Joseph Golan, a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1953, was appointed Principal Second Violin by Sir Georg Solti in 1969. He has also played with the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra and the New Orleans Symphony, as well as with opera, ballet, and commercial orchestras. Golan has appeared as soloist in recital and concert performances with the Chicago Symphony, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, the WGN Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Portland (Maine) Symphony. In addition to his Chicago Symphony Orchestra responsibilities, Golan’s other activities include chamber music concerts, teaching, lecture-demonstrations, music contracting, and studio recording for films, TV and radio commercials.
