Peggy Michel, oboe
The Music Conservatory Faculty

As former principal oboist of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and a founding member of the Arioso Wind quintet, Peggy Michel can be heard on eight compact discs on the Koch International label. Since moving to Chicago in 1998, she has performed with this city’s finest ensembles including Music of the Baroque, Lyric Opera Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony, Ars Viva, the Chicago Philharmonic, the Chicago Chamber Musicians, and the Contemporary Chamber Players. She has performed on Chicago Symphony’s Music Now series and is a member of the Fulcrum Point New Music Project. In addition, Ms. Michel has performed with several music festivals including SummerFest La Jolla, the Peter Britt (OR) Festival and has taught oboe at Wichita State University, the University of California at San Diego and San Diego State University. She received her Masters degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with John Mack.
