Lawrence Neuman, viola
The Music Conservatory Faculty

Lawrence Neuman studied with Heidi Castleman, Donald McInnes, and Robert Vernon. He is a member of the Chicago Symphony and also served as Acting Principal Viola of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. As a chamber musician he has performed at festivals in Marlboro, LaJolla, Portland, Madison, and Davenport, among others, and has collaborated with such artists as Pinchas Zukerman, Gil Shaham, and Daniel Barenboim. Prior to joining the CSO, Mr. Neuman was violist with the Miami String Quartet and taught at the New World School of the Arts in Miami. He has been heard as soloist with the National Orchestra of Costa Rica, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Kammergild Chamber Orchestra in St. Louis.
