Rebecca Simone Schorsch works extensively in the Chicagoland area as a concert soloist and recitalist. She was heard live on WFMT in recital on the Pianoforte Salon Series in February 2007 and again in April 2008. Other recent concert performances include Mozart's Coronation Mass and Brahms' Ein Deustches Requiem Ñboth with the Salt Creek SinfoniettaÑ and Mozart's Mass in C minor with the Northwest Symphony as well as a concert of arias and duets. Rebecca has appeared on the Cultural Center's Classical Mondays series in an all-Britten program and with the Illinois Philharmonic in Handel's Messiah. As a favorite soloist with the Bach and Beyond Festival Orchestra, Rebecca has appeared with them in J.S. Bach's Cantata No. 51 (Jauchzet Gott, in alles Landen), Mozart's Mass in C minor, Handel's Dixit Dominus, Bach's Magnificat and Cantata 140 (Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme). Other concert performances include Bach's St. John Passion, Der Rosenkavelier Suite (Sophie), Chabrier's L'invitation au voyage (with Chicago Civic Ensemble), Bach Cantata 209(Non sa che sia dolore), John Rutter's Requiem and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.

In addition to teaching at CCPA (her alma mater) she is on the voice faculty at Sherwood Conservatory of Music and a member of the Music Teachers of Hyde Park. She has worked on a myriad of specialty projects, including teaching and directing for the Lyric Opera of Chicago's OperaKids! Program, and writing and co-producing the Chicago Opera Quiz (2005), presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs and broadcast on WFMT.
