Steps for Admission
The Theatre Conservatory

1. Complete the Application.
U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents: Apply online here.
International Students should download the International CCPA application and financial statement form here. The application fee is $75 if the application is postmarked on or before January 15. The fee after January 15 is $100 ($75 + $25 late fee).

2. Review audition dates. An application must be on file before you can schedule an audition. Follow the directions from the online application to request your audition.
International students: Please submit the application form, then contact The Theatre Conservatory at theatre@roosevelt.edu to request your date.

3. Send all of the following supporting application materials in one envelope:

  • Head Shot (8x10, b&w or color)
  • One-page Resume
  • Three sealed letters of recommendation
  • Essay (collegiate and career goals) - this is included in the online application, but international students should send it along with the other materials.
  • Two sets of Offical Sealed Transcripts (if necessary, these may be sent separately directly from your high school and/or college to the address below). High School transcripts must report SAT and/or ACT scores, unless scores are being sent directly from the testing service.

  • Send all items in one envelope to:
    Chicago College of Performing Arts
    Enrollment Office, Room 918
    430 S Michigan Ave
    Chicago, IL 60605

Applicants can review the status of their files here.

4. US Citizens and permanent residents must file the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ) if they wish to be considered for aid (which includes scholarship). The priority deadline for the FAFSA is February 1. Note: Applicants are considered for scholarship through the college. Auditions, grades, test scores and financial need are considered. The only other source of scholarship is via the Scholars Program, which is an honors track. Follow this link for application details.

5. Present your live audition.
Videotapes are not admissible for theatre applicants.
Review audition requirements here.

6. Await our decision (usually arrives by April 1).

7. If admitted, respond with the signed agreement and deposit by May 1. Undergraduates must also return the residence hall security deposit and application. CCPA maintains a two-year residency requirement for students under 21. Read about our new state of the art residence hall here.

Know your rights: The Theatre Conservatory adheres to the policies set by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) in regards to response deadlines and deposits. Visit this page for further details.
